Pasta is one of life’s greatest pleasures; my love of it truly knows no bounds. If you’ve been following me for any length of time, you know I eat it every week, guilt free, and am thoroughly convinced it can (and should) be a part of a healthy diet.
Unfortunately, pasta has been unfairly vilified as a food that will make you gain weight and derail your health goals. Our society is majorly carb-phobic, which is unfortunate, since carbohydrates - including pasta - are an essential macronutrient and our bodies’ primary energy source, fueling brain function and all physical movement. Of course, some carbs are better for us than others. Whole grains, fruits, and pasta are far “better for you” than, say, a bag of potato chips or a glazed donut.
