How to Cook When You're Not Well
When you're not in fighting form, here's how to get food on the table.
In the last few years of my life, there have been multiple occasions when cooking has been difficult, at best. From the emotional and physical trauma of my thoracic surgery/cancer diagnosis, to two bouts of COVID, to several very depleting depressive spells, to my current broken wrist/surgery, I’ve found myself, time after time, really struggling to figure out how to get food on the table when nothing about me seemed to be in working order. I’m guessing that you have, at one point or another, found yourself in a similar place. How do we feed ourselves properly when we are not well?
