London Highlight Reel
Where I ate, where I stayed and what I did during my recent trip to London!
Whew! It has been a whirlwind of a week so far. We got home from London on Monday night, and basically had only two full days to unpack, organize and prepare for the first day of school, which was yesterday (and why this newsletter is a day late - sorry!). I am very ready for the weekend to recoup, and feeling all of the bittersweet emotions about summer ending and another school year beginning.
So, back to London! I started planning this trip with my sister and our families earlier this year, so after months of anticipation, we were really excited to board our flight and start our adventure together in England. Our group comprised of 3 adults and 4 kids (ranging in age from 5-15), so figuring out an itinerary that would make everyone happy was a bit of a challenge; I’m happy to report that we ended up having a great trip and covered a lot of ground together. Here are the highlights of our weeklong stay:
Where We Stayed
We knew that our group wanted to be together under one roof, so we decided that an airbnb rental made the most sense. We found a lovely townhouse in Kentish Town, an area in North London that was about a 30-40 minute ride via public transportation to most of the main landmarks and attractions. We didn’t mind the commute much, since it gave us time to map out our days and/or unwind after a busy day of sightseeing. It was our priority to find a place that had plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone to be comfortable, plus a kitchen for preparing breakfast and coffee each morning, and a washer/dryer (which helped cut down on the amount we had to pack).
