Greetings, friends. I am currently trying to wrap my head around the fact that Thanksgiving is 3 weeks from today. Once I take down my Halloween decorations and catch my breath, I’ll get in holiday mode, tout suite. I am one of “those people” who is normally ready to start listening to Christmas music on November 1. My husband alerted me that Starbucks has broken out the iconic red cups, and tbh, it was the best news I’ve heard in a while (and yes, the bar is, indeed, low).
To rewind a few days, we had a great Halloween over here! My town has a specific neighborhood that really does it up; huge throngs of kids trick or treating, driveway Halloween tailgates, amazing spooky lawn decorations - I always describe it as something out of an 80’s movie, in the best way possible. My daughters and I dressed up as witches with matching black lipstick, and they got more than their fill of candy. It was a lot of fun; I always relax the “food rules” completely on Halloween and let them enjoy a piece of candy once a day for the next week or so; after that, we’re back to normal. That way, everyone’s happy.
So, as we get into the holiday season, I’ll be menu planning, recipe developing, and gift-guide planning for you! Do you have any special requests? I’ll leave the comment box open today for whatever suggestions, questions, etc. you have for me as we approach the holidays.
For now, here’s what I’m reading, watching, listening to, etc.!
For my fellow hygge lovers, this Magical Mini Guide to Cozy Weekends is so fun.
I recently mentioned on Instagram that this Socca (Farinata) is the best thing I’ve cooked in a while. Will be making again. And again. And again.
How cute are these Ribbon Wrapped Hoop Earrings for holiday gatherings?
I’ve been a Britney Spears fan since the beginning, so of course I'm completely engrossed in her memoir (I’m listening to the audiobook), The Woman in Me. It’s way better than I expected and provides a lot of eye opening (and often heartbreaking) insight into her life and rise to superstardom.
This cardigan looks so cute and cozy - and really affordable!
I’m always looking for ways to deepen my connection with the natural world, so I’ve been really enjoying this podcast, Going Wild with Dr. Rae Wynn-Grant. It focuses on how we, as humans, can look at our relationship to nature differently.
The second season The Gilded Age just premiered; I loved the first season - it really transports you to late 19th century high society New York City.

I would love to have a recipe for a Thanksgiving main dish! Ever since becoming a vegetarian/vegan I struggle with this. On holidays over the years, I have made mushroom wellingtosn, lasagnas & shepherds pie but would love a new tasty idea!
I am a paid subscriber. I saw the nice wonderful photo at the top of your post - looks like an apple pie - hoping for the recipe, but it was just a picture.
