The Sunday Table
The new book I can't put down, cute new shoes for the gym, the hot supplement that has the wellness world abuzz, and a great new show.
Good morning, friends and happy Sunday! I hope your morning is peaceful and slow, wherever you are. We are wrapping up our time in LA with my sister and her new baby; it’s been so nice to be able to spend time with both of them, while also taking a little time to explore the city with my kids. I’m excited to share some highlights of our trip very soon.
This week, I am looking forward to getting back into the swing of things - my kids are going to day camp, so I’ll be busy with a recipe development project, re-stocking our fridge (anyone else love to do this after a trip?) and doing some batch cooking, and getting back on track with my workouts.
This week’s round-up:
A few months ago, I joined a weight training group; I’ve been reading more and more about the importance of strength training, especially for women in their 40s and beyond, and so decided to finally take action. My new trainer told me that my old sneakers didn’t provide proper stability for weight lifting, so I purchased a proper pair of training shoes - I got these from Adidas and love them (and I get lots of compliments on them every week!).
I started a new book on the flight to LA and really like it so far - if you like fast paced thrillers, this is a good one (a perfect pick for the beach or your next getaway). I especially love the backdrop of the Adirondack mountains and an old-money family mansion deep in the woods.
We had falafel pitas recently for family dinner, and I purchased this plant-based tzatziki at Whole Foods and everyone loved it! Made with cultured vegan sour cream, cucumber, dill, garlic and lemon, it’s flavorful, has a clean ingredient list, and would also be great as a veggie or chip dip.
