What's the point?
If a healthy diet and lifestyle can't guarantee you won't get sick, what's the point?

Despite it being a very busy few weeks from a recipe development standpoint, food and cooking haven’t been on my mind very much. I’m still dealing with the difficult “personal stuff” I’ve alluded to in the past, and likely will be for the foreseeable future. Plus, I had my regular check-in yesterday with my oncologist, which is always stressful and hard on some level. Thankfully, it went well; now that I’m 4 years post-diagnosis, I no longer have to get regular CT scans, so my appointments now typically consist of bloodwork and a physical exam. Everything looked good - my bloodwork looks great and within normal ranges, and I don’t have any obvious physical signs of cancer. My doctor reminded me we have just one more year to go before I’m clinically considered “cured”. It feels good, surreal, but also a little scary being in the home stretch.
I realized yesterday that I’m afraid of what could happen once I let my guard down. I’ve privately described cancer as
